Who We Are

We're a dryer vent cleaning company based in Huntington Beach, CA. We've worked this area long enough to know the neighborhoods, the housing stock, and the kinds of calls that come in regularly.

Huntington Beach sits in the middle of Orange County's coastal and central plain, and the housing here tells a clear story: prewar bungalow cores in places like Old Town Seal Beach and Old Town Tustin, then the massive 1950s–70s tract boom that built out Garden Grove, Westminster, Fountain Valley, Cypress, Rossmoor and most of this city, then 1980s–2000s attached townhome and condo infill. Three vent-run patterns come straight out of that history. Single-story slab tracts put the laundry in the attached garage or a back-wall service area, so the run is short and goes straight through stucco to a wall hood, usually with an inch of flexible foil crushed flat behind the dryer. Two-story tracts and newer attached product moved the laundry upstairs or into an interior hall closet, which means a long run up through framing into the attic and out a roof jack, or a long horizontal attic run with several elbows. Condo and senior-community stacked closets share chases. We work behind all three, and we work behind gas and electric dryers, stacked units, and the compact machines builders drop into closets that barely fit them.

The climate here does not do what cold-region climates do. There is no winter condensation freeze. What there is instead is near-constant marine humidity, with coastal cities routinely sitting at 70–90% RH overnight and through the morning overcast. Intake air is already moist, so cycles run longer, and lint packs damp and sticks to the duct wall instead of blowing clear. Salt air eats exterior hoods and seizes backdraft dampers open, and an open damper in spring is an invitation to house finches and sparrows. Santa Ana season pushes fine dust into roof jacks. None of that is dramatic, but none of it slows lint down either, which is why vents around here need clearing on a time basis, roughly annually and more often for long runs or anything terminating on the roof. The most common calls we get: clothes taking two cycles, a dryer that shuts off hot, a damp smell in an upstairs closet, a bird in the wall, or a hood that rattles and no longer closes.

On site the crew brings a rotary brush on a flexible vent line, a vacuum that captures at the appliance end, and an anemometer to read airflow at the hood before we start and again when we finish. We pull the dryer, check the transition hose, run the brush the full length of the duct, and vacuum what comes loose rather than pushing it into the attic or the wall. If the hood is corroded or the damper is stuck, we say so. If there is a nest, we clear it. If we read good airflow at the hood and the duct is clean when we open it, we tell you that and we do not clean it anyway. Cost on a cleaning here tracks the run: a short garage wall run is straightforward, while a long attic run with multiple elbows or a roof jack takes more line, more time and often ladder work on a pitched roof. Crushed foil behind the appliance, a seized damper or an undersized duct can turn a cleaning into a repair conversation, and we will walk you through what we found before anything changes. We also handle dryer vent repair, new runs and reroutes through dryer vent installation, and a straight dryer vent inspection if you just want to know where you stand.

How we decide between cleaning, repair and replacement

Two cycles to dry one load. That is the symptom most people call about. It almost never has one cause. Before we quote anything we find out where the duct goes. A single-story Westminster or Fountain Valley tract with the laundry in the garage is a short run through stucco. An upstairs closet in newer attached product is a long attic run with elbows and a roof jack. Those two jobs are not the same job.

Cleaning is the right answer when the duct is rigid metal and intact. We say so and stop there.

Replacement gets recommended for a narrow set of findings. Flexible foil or vinyl crushed flat behind the appliance. Screws driven through the duct wall catching lint. Seams separated inside a wall cavity. Corroded exterior hoods are common near the coast. Salt seizes backdraft dampers open, and an open damper is an invitation to house finches in spring.

We also tell people when not to spend. A roof jack packed with Santa Ana dust usually clears. A stacked condo chase shared with neighbors may need the HOA before anyone touches it.

Marine humidity means damp lint sticks to duct walls here. That changes how often you clean. It does not change what gets replaced.
